How to pay your PTPTN online through Maybank2u

So you now have a job or at least there's a voice telling you to be honest to yourself and start paying off those debt eh? Well, I could be wrong though but anyway I've been paying PTPTN for quite sometime and you may be wondering how can you pay PTPTN online. (Well yea, that's why you're here right?) It is quite convenience to do it online because you can keep track of the transaction as well as it's just a click away. So enough of that let's just start eh?

1. Make sure you have a Maybank2u account (if you don't make one!). "What about other banks?" Hey, this is obviously for M2U right? The topic is for M2U so go google it elsewhere! You can login here to open the secure website. Make sure there's the HTTPS in front of the URL to avoid phishing website!

2. After logging in, click 'Account & Banking' as shown below.

3. Then go to the left hand side menu and click 'Bill Payment'.

4. On this page we're going to save this method for future payment so it will be easier for us to do the transaction again. Go to 'Add favorite payee'.

5. On step 1 to add a favorite payee, search for 'PTPTN - Bayaran Balik Pinjaman Pendidikan'. This is important as there is another one called 'PTPTN - Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN)'. We don't want that so don't get confused ok? Click the Continue  button to proceed.

6. Step 2 for adding the favorite payee is to fill in your IC and your full name. That shouldn't be hard right? "What's my name?!" Dude, seriously? There's always a view sample if you don't understand what to fill on certain field. After every field has been filled, click the Continue button to proceed.

7. The last step to add your favorite payee is to request the TAC (Transaction Authorization Code) onto your mobile phone in order to verify the adding of selected payee.

After you entered your TAC and it has been confirmed, click the 'Confirm' button to proceed. You can now pay to PTPTN without the hassle in filling all those detail all over again. It's that simple! Now let's start to make that payment!

1. Click back to 'Bill Payment'  on the left side of the menu to go back to the payment page.

2. After that click 'Make a payment to a favorite payee'.

3. Select 'PTPTN - Bayaran Balik Pinjaman Pendidikan - ' under the drop down list.

4. Alright, on this part I can't help you much as for security reason they need you to fill in one field which is the offer letter code. This is to ensure that the payment goes to the correct account based on the code. Make sure you have the offer letter still in your possession. I can't help you on that part if you lost it but you can still contact them through the following number 03-2080 4455 and retrieve your details.

5. Lastly check your particular to ensure the amount and the offer letter is correct then just submit the payment. You can always check the status or the history of your payment in M2U history under 'Account Details'. As a good practice, I would recommend you to print every payment that you've made as proof of payment just in case for future references.

They payment will be update few days later on E-FES so be patient and rest assured that the payment has gone through. You can still check them here for your PTPTN online statement. Other than that you can check it through SMS (Short Messaging Service) by sending 'PIN NUMBER''IC NUMBER' to 33199. Oh, there is a RM0.50 charge for each SMS sent.

So there you have it on steps to pay your PTPTN through M2U. Hope it helps and good luck in paying back everyone!

P.S: You can also bank some into my account? Haha! Just kidding people! :)

    1. Hi Eleng. If I'm not wrong, it should be fine because what makes it to differentiate the payments are the number on the offer letter. Payment will go through to them with your details but to which loan account are based on the number in the offer letter. Hope this helps.

Also, what is number of pembiayaan?

    1. Hey there...anonymous I guess? Well I usually check it at http://epay.ptptn.gov.my/loan/ptptnlogin.html. It's better to go there as you can see the details and all.

My apologies as I'm rather rusty on the details in PTPTN but where do you see this 'Number of Pembiayaan'?

  6. Hi Ryonall, my name is ray, i got the "number of pembiayaan" when i received a letter from PTPTN to tell me that i have make my payment late more than 3 months. lol. but i got the number of surat tawaran also.

    1. Hi Ray. I believe only the 'surat tawaran' counts. So far in my online payments I only entered the 'surat tawaran'. Hope it helps. :)

    1. Hey. I'm not sure if time has changes for the system but on my side it's the 6 digit number which was stated on your initial offer letter. If you can't find it back again, you can contact PTPTN and request from them. I've ever lost it once (didn't write it down. duh) and I got it back from them. Hope it helps.

  9. Hi, I just want to ask..if I didn't and don't want to register as a favourite payee, which should click for the payment? Is it "Make one-off payment"? TQ

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Azri. Yes, if you don't want to register it then use the 'Make one-off payment' as your selection. If you're going to do this on a regular basis, I would suggest you register it to avoid constantly entering the TAC number.

  11. No Pinjaman tu is it the same with No surat tawaran...?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi there As. I believe that it is not the same because the reference number could differ between those two. I've kinda forgotten about the length for 'No Pinjaman' but clearly 'Surat Tawaran' is the 6 digit number for me.

Refer to my step 4 on where you can obtain the 'Surat Tawaran' reference under the 'Bill Payment' section. Hope it helps! :D

  12. If I use my Public bank to apply for PTPTN, but when I work i use different bank account (maybank) to pay? Is it ok?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi there Anonymous (so many people with the same username :P). Yes it is possible if you have a Maybank account. What counts is the offer letter. The bank is just a payment gateway to them therefore what differentiates it is the offer later to ensure who have paid what. Hope it helps.

P.S: Any bank will do though as I've other bank as well but I've centralized my banking platform in Maybank. :P

  13. Is the No Rujukan same as the Number ID at E-Fes? Because I've paid through Maybank2u using the Number ID at E-fes as I don't know what is my No Rujukan.

    1. Hi there Mu Wei Ooi. Which number ID are you referring to? I've paid through Maybank as well and when I've lost (or misplaced my offer letter) to get the offer letter number, I've just mailed them my IC number and they will provide me my offer letter number.

So far I know to pay through Maybank, the offer letter (6 digits) are the one used to identify your account.

  14. Your number rujukan is 6 digit,
Mine on my offer letter is:

    Nombor surat tawaran: 2010/xxxxxxxx
There are 8 digits on it. o.O
Do you think this is the offer number?
I don't want to pay to the wrong guy, Haha!

    Replies
    1. Hi Anonymous. If that is what has been stated on the offer letter, then that should be the one. I'm not surprised as the number could be changed due to the number of applicants or their numbering system. For a confirmation if you're in doubt, you can ask for your offer letter number from PTPTN and they will be happy to provide you with the number.

  15. I guess the number of offer letter is same as No. Pembiayaan. They are 6 digits.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Jack. True it may be but Anonymous raised a concern here where these number might span to a number more than 6 digits. We still have to consider the possibilities of the number to be more than 6 digits. Best reference is to refer back to the given offer letter.

    1. Hey there MyLife. Sorry for the late reply. Well that's hard to say as it varies. Usually it updates around 3-4 days (I know that's pretty late!). I did call them before because it has been a week and nothing has been updated. They have informed that their system is undergoing some kind of maintenance (as always...) and it will be updated ASAP.

Anyway, checking my statement today 23.01.2015, it has been updated from my previous payment made at 8th of Jan. Yea, I know it's long. Just in case it hasn't showed up, get your proof of payment ready and contact them to verify the situation. Hope it helps.

    3. Hi guys. If you've made the payment online, it will take around 3 days for it to update the system (sometimes longer than that!). Be patient as it won't be updated in real time. If it's longer than that, you can file a report to PTPTN in regards to the payment that you've made and provide the transaction slip as a proof of payment.

    4. Hi, Ryonall. I paid my loan on 1st of April and till today, it does not show any payment been made. Can you tell me how can I file a report to PTPTN? I have the transaction slip with me. I'm a newbie haha..

    1. Hi there...anonymous? You should really put at least a username there. Haha. I've went to M2U to check it out and it seems that they have changed the payment details. They are now using your IC number for cross reference instead of the Offer Letter.

I've tried to pay (for your sake), and the payment went through successfully. Unless you've entered someone else IC number then that will be a problem. Hope it helps. I will create another entry for this updated payment steps. No worries! :)

    1. Billie, you get your offer letter when ur application is succesfull. You should have gotten a huge white a4 size envelope in the early stages of your loan. ✌️

    2. Hey there Billie. Apologies for the latency in replying to your comment. Whoa! That was like July my friend. It's pretty weird that you're asking for a letter of offer when you are near to your graduation. The loan is usually being taken prior to the beginning of your studies. Anyway, as what the previous comment has stated, you will get your letter if your application is successful and 6 months doesn't really shows it to be that way. Another thing that you could do is to confirm with PTPTN themselves.

Hope this helps and good luck Billie!

  22. To everybody asking about the "no. Pinjaman" you have to fill in when logging in to the website https://epay.ptptn.gov.my. It refers to your 7 digit "no. Pin" in your letters you receive from ptptn. If you dont have it, you may contact 03-2080 4455 and use your IC number as verification to your account in ptptn. I hope this helps. I was also lost and didnt know how to pay until i visited this blog. Thank you very much Ryonall. Believe it or not i only started paying back my loan after 5 years of graduation. Still not blacklisted

    1. In this case I hope you still keep all your previous proof of payments which I believe is very important for your future reference for instances like this. I've opt for online payment because I could get my statement from the bank at any time (pretty lazy to record them...). If it's too long then you need to pay a small amount for the bank to print out the statement as they're only showing a limited period of time. 3 months I think?

Bring these proofs to the PTPTN office and query to them why does your payment does not reflect in the PTPTN statement. As for me, the past 7 years I've kept all my proof of payment receipt in pdf, create a log in excel file for comparison as well as their statement in a printed hardcopy just in case they have some glitches or errors in their future statement.

      Hope it helps!

  27. Hello, I'm sure this sound silly, but I can put any amount for payment?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey there. Wow. Apologies for the late reply and the answer is yes, you can pay at any amount as long as you're paying it. If I've recalled correctly, there is also another method which is the scheduled payment where you will be paying according to their proposed schedule. Well, I would recommend if you want it to be structured or organised. If you think there could be some ups and downs on your financial situation in the future then just pay at any amount at your convenience.

Do take note that just like other loans, paying at a minimum amount or too small would just be in result of only paying the interest instead of the loan itself. Which in return extending the loan for a longer period of time.

Hope this answer your query my friend. No question is silly for a curious mind. :)
