Hailstones?!

It was cold, raining and I have many pending works to do. About the rain, it's not a surprise anymore since I got used to it and I'm not surprised like before where I thought there's no rain here in the middle of the desert and I was surprised that it did rain! You can read it here on my previous blog about how surprise I was for the climate changes that happened in Qatar for me. It was totally unexpected for the climate here to have rained since it's the desert!

So back to my story where it rained heavily since morning and there was suddenly some banging like the droplets of rain sounded more like a stone! When I peeked out of the window of my office I start to see the raindrops more visible in white color! So I thought, "Wait! That is not raindrops?! It could not be that visible with a color!". So the banging gets louder and there were peoples rushing outside to see what was going on. I decided to join them and my thought was correct where it was hail!

Wow, that was the first time I've seen hail with my very eyes. It was small though. As big as an eraser on average. Kinda harmless but I hope there's none bigger ones at somewhere else because it can cause harm and property damages. Anyway, again... Doha seize to amaze me. Whoa...

Sandstorm!

Me and my friend was chatting over about how we can take over the site here for our devilish ambition when suddenly he said "Sandstorm!". I thought he was joking as we said that we will take the place by storm where we were talking how to take the place as hostage but when I went outside, I was surprised that there was a big thunderstorm and just like the mist yesterday, it was nearly the same where it just covered the whole site in a blanket of sand! These are few snapshots that I managed to capture. I can't capture anymore since the wind was so strong and it gets into my eyes. Ouch!

Here are some shots from my friend with his camera.

Allah has ways in showing who's in control in this world no matter how much we claim that this world we live in is ours. SubhanAllah...

I can't see anything! :P

Yesterday, I was preparing myself for work and as I was about to leave my block... Woah! To my surprise, there was a mist! I mean a very thick mist was surrounding the camp site! The visibility was very bad as I can only see only a few meters in front of me. I wore my head cap as it protects my head from the cold which gave me headache and fever because of the sudden change in temperature. (Experienced it before!)

So I went to work a little bit late than usual as the driver has to drove the bus a little slower because of the limited visibility. All cars turned on their emergency signals to warn the other vehicles of their present on the road. Other than that, the road was slippery too from the mist that covered the road. I can feel the cold piercing through my skin and I expect the temperature would be around 6-7 degrees Celsius. Here are the photos that I managed to capture.

The view at my workplace. It's hard to see anything and it's freezing too!

Anyway, these are the only photos I manged to capture because there's a sign stated that "STRICTLY NO PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED!". So for the sake of blogging, I'm sacrificing myself here! Gulp! ~Scary.

P.S: One more time, Doha seizes to amaze me again. Whoa...

It's raining... What?!

Maybe I'm the last person on earth to know about this but it's raining here in Doha! Of course I'm surprised! Well, I thought that it's like middle east, in the middle of the desert and sunny so it's impossible to have rain in the middle of the desert. Okay, not impossible but it's like 1:1000 chances that it's going to rain. I think that '1' is now I guess? Anyway, on my previous blog I did mentioned that I was wrong on my perception about how hot Doha was; as it was freezing cold here in Doha and now it rains. What more surprises does this place holds for me? Hmm... I wonder.

Freezing!

Yesterday I went back from work and it was freezing! The temperature drops down to 7 degrees and strong winds with a sharp piercing feeling through my skin is making it even worse. I was a little warm though with my snow cap and glove that I've bought the first time I came here. I didn't expect before coming here that it would be this cold because I was thinking that in the middle east it is quite hot since it's in the desert. I knew I was dead wrong when I exit the airplane and the 1st gust of wind that enter the plane was a cold one. I was warned before about the condition here but I guess I took it lightly. I did not manage to capture a photo during the temperature drops at 7 degrees as I forgot to bring my camera but I manage to capture when it was below 10 degrees Celsius.

Whoa! 9 degrees Celsius?! Cool...

On March and onwards will be warm or should I say very hot since they said that it can reach up to 50 degrees Celsius! Whoa! It's like extreme weather over here! Once it's hot, it's scalding hot and if it's cold it's freezing cold. Gosh, I hope I can cope with it. Anyway, perhaps after a few months here I could adapt myself with the extreme conditions with a few torment of sickness. Haha... I hope none of that will happen to me. Ah, please protect me Allah...Amin. :)
