Slow and Steady wins the race. Yep.

Hi there Readers!

It has been a good start for 2015. One of the good news was that when I was checking the remaining balance for my PTPTN loan, it showed I have only a few more payments to be done and I'm all finished! Alhamdulillah. Here's my current statement on January 2015.
Current outstanding amount for my PTPTN loan.
Paid 3x more than my normal RM200 as I have some extra cash.
I have it all thanks to my dad. Even before I did have a job, he insisted me to start paying out of my pocket money even RM50 for a start. It doesn't seem much or even change much on the loan but then it had kept me going. Hard at first but setting my priorities right, I've managed to get used to it. After that, he had advised me when I have a job, to pay RM200 each month till the very end but if I could pay more, I should do it. That is what I've been practicing all these years.

So for more than 8 years I've been paying which I've never missed a month in paying my education loan. (well there are times I've skipped it but I'll have to pay more to compensate my lost time so it has been considered covered?). At times, if I have an extra cash I would put more into it. Yea, Maggi could solve the trick when you need to tie up that food expenses although it is not recommended as a main diet!

I know debts are a pain in the butt but then, debts are still debts. The moment you've accepted the agreement, you have to do your part of the agreement as they've done theirs. I believe that's not rocket science. Which whining and getting all worked up won't get it solved. Get it paid will solve it.

Another thing is that I have also kept an excel file with formulas to ensure that the payment and calculations that was done on the statements are correct and tallied. Just in case there might be discrepancies. Not to forget to always keep a copy of receipt for each payment that has been made (a softcopy in PDF if you're paying online). I would advise everyone to do the same.

Anyway, for those who are still paying, don't get too frustrated about it. Just pay what you could and pay more if you have the opportunity. Simple! Without realizing, it could be finished before you could even realize it!

Cheers.
